It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our newest team member, Sera Janneh. Sera passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 as a result of the tragic Twin Parks fire in the Bronx. She joined us in November as the Site Supervisor for our new site at PS76. Her joy and commitment to the work of Serious Fun was evident to all who met her. Sera was the middle daughter of seven sisters and was pursuing her degree in Psychology at Lehman College. Sera’s sister, Aisha Janneh, is currently in intensive care. Please keep the Janneh family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.
Serious Fun has contributed to the family’s GoFundMe in an effort to support them and to join them in hope for Sera’s sister. If you would like to contribute, please click the link below. https://www.gofundme.com/f/janneh-family-emergency-relief?qid=a5708600630397c6811e55b27ca26ad1
We wish strength and peace to the Janneh family and all those impacted by the Twin Parks fire.
GoFundMe LinkDear Families,
It gives us great pleasure to say, “Welcome back”!
Welcome back to bright eyes, busy minds and joyful messes! Welcome back to playing and learning together! Welcome back to the start of a year of inspiring creativity and creating opportunities for children to explore the arts, move their bodies and make friends, all in person!
While there will be ongoing challenges as we enter schools, the health and safety of our teams and students is uppermost in our minds. We are working with the NYC Department of Education and Department of Health to support being together again in person.
Wishing you a happy and healthy start to fall, from all of us at Serious Fun! Welcome back!
